Consider where you are TODAY and where you want to be TOMORROW.
Where do you see yourself five years from now? How about ten, or twenty years from now? Depending our your specific age and personal circumstances, those future dates may fall somewhere in the middle of your working years or well into your retirement age. Does your current job provide you with the professional income, advancement opportunities, family medical insurance, and viable retirement plan that you need to enjoy your life today and secure those Golden Years of tomorrow? If so, that's awesome! If not, then you should seriously consider the advantages afforded to you through Collective Bargaining.
Why should you become an IBEW member?
When workers join together in a union, they can ensure that they are treated with respect and dignity in the workplace. As IBEW union members, we choose to bargain collectively with our employersto secure safe working conditions, proper training, professional wages, family health benefits, and a fully funded retirement plan for the future. With a well negotiated working agreement, our union members have legal protections they would not have been able to achieve on their own. When you join IBEW, you have direct access to employment opportunities with the best employers in the electrical industry.
We Promote Fairness & Productivity in the Workplace through Collective Bargaining.
Collective bargaining involves discussions and negotiations between labor and management committees to determine the terms and conditions of employment. It is called ‘collective’ because both the employer and the employee act as a group rather than as individuals. It is known as ‘bargaining’ because the method of reaching an agreement involves proposals and counter proposals, offers and counter offers. This provides a process in which representatives of both labor and management participate in a professional environment to negotiate & implement a fair, sustainable working agreement.
What are the benefits of being an IBEW member?
When you join the IBEW, you expect to have the most opportunity to secure the best pay and benefits in the industry. And you do!
